eyes wide shut is a “blind” dating app where a user’s first interaction won’t be a profile photo. Instead, it will be an answer to a prompt of their choosing.

Statistically, people of color, especially black women and asian men, get the least amount of engagement on dating apps. My hope for this app is to alleviate some of the “isms” people of color generally experience with online dating.

A lot of dating apps use the swipe interaction where the user has a micro-second to determine which direction they want to swipe. This allows for people’s unconscious bias to surface when choosing a potential partner.
